2018 Meeting Schedule – Summer Hiatus

Dear CCW members and friends–

Being how we are a brand new chapter, finding a regularly scheduled location has been a bit difficult. As many of you are aware, we have had several locations loose our reservations and double book us, and those locations include libraries. Most locations, again including libraries, also charge upwards of $30-40 an hour to rent a room for a meeting. With that said, the board has determined that until we get a stable cadence with meeting locations and speakers, we will be moving to a quarterly meeting basis.

I would like to return to a monthly meeting schedule as soon as we are able to secure locations for several months in advance. We also need time to establish relationships with locations outside of the Orlando area to better accommodate our membership as well.

The next planned meeting will be in September. We will send out advanced notice ahead of that meeting as to location and time. We will be introducing the chapter at the upcoming Indie Book Fest (https://indiebookconvention.com/) in an effort to increase our membership as well.

Thank you for your continued attendance and support of our chapter. We will continue to update our websites and send out emails with the latest information as we have it.

Have a great summer and keep writing!

Kathleen Lopez, CCW Chapter President

Guest Speaker – L.E. Perez
Often enough in storytelling, the characters in our little worlds get testy, one thing leads to another, and a fight breaks out. While we’ve all seen a fight (and hopefully not been a part of one), it may not translate to the page as accurately as it appears in the writer’s mind. Meet. L.E. Perez. Laura is our own chapter vice president, a prolific writer, oh and just happens to be a fourth degree black belt. Laura will be sharing her expertise on how to accurately depict a fight scene in works of fiction.
