On May 21, 2016, a number of local mystery writers got together to discuss starting a local chapter of Sisters in Crime at the Alafaya Branch Library in Orlando. So far, Florida has only 2 chapters–one in Jacksonville and another in Sarasota. But the big middle has no chapter so author Kathleen Lopez thought it was time to get the ball rolling. The group discussed possible by-laws, potential officers, names, logo options and upcoming writing and library events. If you belong or want to join Sisters in Crime and live in Central Florida, please visit our Facebook page to keep you in the loop about future events at https://www.facebook.com/citruscrimewriters/.
Where else can you talk about murder, mayhem, body farms, and autopsies on a Saturday morning and everybody is completely OK with it?
